Game developer, gamer, father & Zelda addict.
Hi, my name is Mike Rouse and I’m a games developer with over 17 years experience in making AAA console games, social platforms, AR games, VR games and mobile & tablet F2P games. I co-created the social games platform PlayStation Home, set out the strategy and direction for PlayStation Trophies, founded and built Microsoft’s F2P mobile studio Lift London and founded the F2P and mobile VR studio RedSix Interactive Entertainment.
I started my gaming career as a 2D and 3D artist, making characters for This is Football and the cars for The Getaway. As I was creating PlayStation Home I moved in to a Production/Product Owner role. I went on to be the Senior Producer on the billion Dollar hit SingStar and later the Development Director for Sony London Studio’s Wonder Book franchise. I am also a member of BAFTA and was judicator for the 2016 Game of the Year.
In my spare time I also play and collect games. I have a modest games collection that consists of over 2000 physical games, 3000 digital games, 60 consoles, a custom MAME cab and all manner of paraphernalia. I particularly love the Zelda series. My prized pieces in the collection are, my copy of The Legend of Zelda signed by Shigeru Miyamoto and my original and complete Magnavox Odyssey (the first ever console) I’m also a big fan of Manga and ever so slightly addicted to PUBG.
