PlayStation Trophy System

During the early months of PlayStation 3's release I helped devise a strategy for a trophy system. A system that would give gamers small rewards as they progressed through a game. I wanted the system to reflect a player’s skill and dedication and so rather than a points system, that was initially proposed, I set out the direction of Bronze, Silver and Gold trophies. By quantifying an in-game reward with an award players could easily compare these trophies and see if a player was a hardcore dedicated player or a more casual gamer. The PlayStation Trophy system is the most successful system level feature and is a strong fan favourite.
